Chateau Marmont
Their first single, “Ghost” came out hot in the blogosphere, which has resulted in remixes from Hey Champ, Midnight Conspiracy, Barretso, Golden Bug and Only Children. The track has also been picked up for air play from BBC Radio 1’s tastemaker show “In New DJs We Trust.”

From the mid-west to the Orient, Gemini Club’s own remix chops are in demand online and across the globe. Their remix for Australian band The Vanish went straight into the top ten of Hype Machine’s charts. The band’s spin on “Cold Dust Girl” entered the same top ten charts on five different occasions within a month – and their remix for Shinichi Osawa has been a mainstay on the iTunes dance charts in Japan. Most recently, the gents of GC’s remix of Chilly Gonzales premiered on the RCRD LBL blog as the most downloaded track of the week, and has seen them featured on many television stations across the world on channels such as MTV, and more.

We’ll admit, we may be a little bit biased with this one. But, Jensen Sportag are currently one of the bands to watch for 2012.
Don’t believe me? Ask famed publications in XLR8R, or The Guardian who consistently feature the works of Nashville’s Jensen Sportag. Or heck, lend an ear into the latest mix that Washed Out released, and what will you hear? Jensen Sportag.
Jensen Sportag – The Wet Mix by CASCINE
Jensen Sportag create the type of R&B-brushed electro that feels plucked from your uncle’s Detroit living room in ’89 and presented in the same tortoiseshell case it originally came in – smooth music, contemporary as it is timeless. As The Guardian claims, “It would be easier to list the music of the last five years that’s as good as this: Washed Out‘s Belong and Drake‘s The Resistance, basically.”
After being introduced during a 2008 recording session in Nashville, Sam & Tre decided to collaborate and see what happened. After two straight years of relentless recording, experimentation and bonding, their unique brand of Electro Glitch Hip Hop was born. With roots in Hip Hop, Dub, Rock and various genre influences, their unique group represents their respective upbringings in London, Atlanta and Trenton, Tennessee, while still keeping an international sensibility.
In late 2010, the release of their underground anthem, “We Do”, hit the streets and spread like a bubonic plague. They soon were garnered with praise for their groundbreaking sound, cultivated by the accomplished mad-scientist producer Sam Shacklock, and lyrical originality of rapper Tre Easley. This was soon followed by the release of their critically acclaimed self-titled debut, which soon reached thousands of downloads and modest international attention.
Already in the process of recording their follow-up album, Sam & Tre are looking to once again push the limits of their unique creative sound.
“In attempting to put personal ghosts from his past to rest Classic Williams has created an album which is sonically endearing while it also challenges personal comfort levels. Musically the production by Klassix Jones helps to further establish Williams as one of the most promising young voices in Nashville.”
- CultureBully.com
Currently attending Middle Tennessee State University, Charles Williams AKA Classic Williams is not your average college student nor is he your average MC, both of these facts are evident on his latest release “The Soul of Nigger Charlie.” Though the album’s name is sure to raise some eyebrows, the title is not about the “N” word. It is a journey through the sometimes complex, often emotional, somewhat crazy, yet always interesting life of Classic Williams.
With sharp production from Klassix Jones (Louisianna Cash “Walk wit a Dip”) Williams continues to reinvigorate the lost art of story telling through song. At only 21 years of age, Williams’s words define life with the knowledge and wit of a man twice his age. Be sure that this is not another sob story regarding the daily trials of misguided youth trying to find their way in today’s world… No, It is much more than that. It is a struggle for identity as the only black child in an all white school, It is the struggle of an artist and a young man trying to break through the “old” guard. More than anything, it is the struggle of one man trying to lay claim to the past, present and future definition of his life… it may not mirror every listener’s, but it is sure to stir real emotion and thoughts that resonate throughout their own lives.
The Soul of Nigger Charlie is an epic adventure worthy of movie screens around the world, but instead of cameras, Williams relies on memories and dreams to record his vision, directing pen to paper, ultimately bringing a vivid story to your mind, while providing a soundtrack for your life.
“Classic William’s new tape, The Soul of Nigger Charlie: A) bins points for riffing on one of the more random moments in
Fred Williamson’s film career, and B) is really, really good.” – NashvilleScene.com
When New Zealand native, LOSICI (aka Josiah Lester), made the move from the pristine shores and the land of reverse flowing toilets to the barren lands of Tennessee, the last thing he thought that we would be experiencing was his involvement in both the hardcore scene (as a member of WORKER) and in the electronic scene as one of Nashville’s last remaining members of the CD-J world under the moniker LOSICI.
