Uncle Skeleton || “Sophisticuffs” + Remixes

Posted: January 27th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | No Comments »

Uncle Skeleton. Sounds like some sort of terrible white rap artist, yeah? Wrong.

Previously featured on the blog, as one of Nashville (and America’s) most stand out artists, Ross Wariner and his team of ‘skeleton’s’ have arrived with a teaser of what could be one of the best pieces of audio art to birth this spring.

With an LP by the name of ‘All Too Human’ in the works, they’ve released a single called “Sophisticuffs”. The single is neatly packaged with a really fresh remix from DJ Burgers (the strangely named Nashville Scene photographer, Steve Cross), along with a few B-Sides. And yes…these are all being realeased for free.

If you haven’t witnessed the ‘live experience’ that is Uncle Skeleton, I suggest that you check them out over on their Facebook page for their next upcoming gigs. Last time I saw them they packaged somewhere between 34 and 751 people on stage. A full orchestra to be exact.

Keep your eyes and ears tuned. Big things are about to happen.

Fare Soldi || “Disco Durello”

Posted: January 27th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | No Comments »

You can always tell when summer is just around the corner. The deep house grooves get placed back onto that dusty shelf, and the disco house summer jams fly in to shed an entirely new light on the coming season.

Fare Soldi set their New Years resolution to an entirely new high, announcing that they were going to be releasing 12 songs in 12 months, on which the last Friday of every month would be the release date.

This timeline of releases is what they are calling, “Paghetta”. Italian for “allowance”.

“Like when we were kids and our parents gave us some money at the end of the week.
Hope your bedroom is not a mess and that you put out the trash.
And next sunday the lawn should be mown.
That’s your payoff.
Every month, a track. Simple as it sounds.
1 year=12 tracks.
12 new furious tracks from your favourite golden guys.” – Fare Soldi

This isn’t just some sample based, VST disco either. Live instruments, featuring some of the best players in the game.

Get your funk out folks, it’s time to boogie.

We are looking at doing a full North American tour yet again this coming summer. If you’d like to have these Golden laced Italians in your city, email me at at justin@vitalicnoise.com

Goldroom || “Angeles”

Posted: January 23rd, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | No Comments »

First Viceroy, and now Goldroom. Two California based artists out to prove that today is all about SUMMER.

Maybe it’s simply because today is a rare cold and dreary winter day out here in Los Angeles, and they are trying to warm the spirits of the weather gods.

Premiering only moments ago over on at the respected Gotta Dance Dirty, Goldroom’s new original masterpiece ’Angeles’ fills every nostalgic void that you needed to remember and re-appreciate the West Coast.

Studio Bongos. Live Guitar. Original Vocals by sir Goldroom himself.

Does it get any better? Look for a huge year from Goldroom as he gets set

Notorious B.I.G || “Going Back To Cali” (Viceroy “Jetlife” Remix)

Posted: January 23rd, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | No Comments »

January 23rd: The first day of Summer.

Last summer, Viceroy arrived with a left field production pick taking Wiz Khalifa’s “This Plane” – turning the chart topping hip hop track into a smooth-laced, disco-based track.

Now, in an antsy move to get the much anticipated summer of 2012 underway – he arrives with what might be one of his better workings to date with Notorious B.I.G’s legendary “Going Back To Cali”.

How fresh is this…

Young Jeezy ft. Jay-Z & Andre 3000 || “I Do” (Sammy Bananas Remix)

Posted: January 20th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | No Comments »

Ever wonder what a hit Young Jeezy song would sound like as an epic disco house anthem?
We haven’t either, but Sammy Bananas has done it again with his adaptation of Young Jeezy’s “I Do” featuring Jay-Z and the one and only Andre 3000.

Thank you Congress for protecting Internet censorship(for now atleast) and allowing Sammy Bananas to continue sharing his magic with the world.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM TO RELEASE FINAL SHOW DVD

Posted: January 20th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | No Comments »

On April 2, 2011 LCD Soundsystem preformed for the very last time at Madison Square Garden in New York City. LCD announced recently that a DVD will soon be released showcasing the final performance and giving an intimate look into the mind of frontman James Murphy titled “SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS.”

This isn’t a surprising move made by Murphy for those who are familiar with his character. But whether you were heartbroken by the bands sudden dismantle or only know “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House” from your FIFA video game, it is hard to not get choked up by the documentary trailer.

Check it out

And if you happen to be hanging around Utah and attending the Sundance Film Festival the documentary will be playing at the following times:

Sunday, January 22, midnight – Egyptian Theater, Park City
Monday, January 23, 9:45pm – Broadway Center Cinema 3, SLC
Wednesday, January 25, 11:30pm – Prospector Square Theater, Park City

Hot Chelle Rae || “I Like It Like That” (Vanguard Remix)

Posted: January 19th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | No Comments »

American Music Awards best new artist, and local Nashville, TN pop favorites, Hot Chelle Rae have had a wildly succesful year after their infectious singles took straight to the heights of the Top 40 radio world.

Now (in a surprising move to say the least), English french house favorites, VANGUARD, have arrived with their idea of a fresh new take on an otherwise standard pop track.

And it’s not even french house at all…

*GASP*

This ‘house’ meets ‘complextro’ meets ‘drum and bass’ meets ‘Madeon’ track will have you scratching your head, wondering “what just happened” all day long. But needless to say…it’s still an incredible piece of work from this young duo.

Not something you’d usually hear posted on #VN but ah, who cares. Just take a peek. You’ll either love it or hate it.

This one’s for you, Nashville.

Artful ft Kal Lavelle || “Could Just Be The Bassline” (A Copycat Remix)

Posted: January 19th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: MUSIC | 2 Comments »

All three of these are artists that I admit to knowing absolutely nothing about. A surprise in the greatest sense of the word.

Artful. Kal Lavelle. A Copycat.

The result of this threesome? A refreshing tropical disco track…or maybe it’s just the bassline.
